great fast laptop, February 4, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lenovo Ideapad Y570 08623TU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Dusk Black) (Personal Computers) great lapto very fast. amazon needs to change there spec sheet for this laptop. the spec sheet shows i5 procesor and one usb 3 port. but it has i7 and 2 usb 3 ports 1 usb 2 port and one shared usb2/esata port. fast boot. screen looks great to me. great buy allso. and with prime shiping got it overnight for 3.99 . ordered friday the 3rd was here before 10 am on the 4th of feb. pakaging great .

There is a nifty GPU on off switch and this thing is a full on desktop replacement.
If you part this out at Apple, HP or Dell you are looking at a $1,200 machine; this thing is a STEAL at $800!
I am an IT professional and a hardcore gamer and this machine does all I could ask.
If you don't know what the next bunch of stuff means, it means the computer is very good.
Ok, now that the noobs are fed here are your benchmarks fellow nerds.
These are after a format and defrag to remove bloatware.

NOT FOR GAMERS!!! - Overheats playing 3d games, March 11, 2012 By Joe Sampson (California) - See all my reviews This review is from: Lenovo Ideapad Y570 08623TU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Dusk Black) (Personal Computers) If you are thinking of buying a Y570 with the intention of gaming, please reconsider and choose another laptop. The Y570, while a nice laptop for non-gaming applications, overheats and stutters while running 3d games. The only way to get the laptop to run games without overheating and stuttering is by hamstringing your CPU to only use 85% of processor power.

I also had a separate issue where my Y570 black screened on waking up from sleep and corrupted the operating system within 2 months of purchase. The dual SSD/HDD solution that Lenovo has in place makes it difficult for the end-user to re-install Windows 7 so I had to send it out to florida so Lenovo could fix it which took a couple weeks.
I will certainly never buy another Lenovo product again. I am very disappointed in the quality of this $1000 laptop.
