This is a very nice high quality machine. HP calls this zero sacrifice, I am about 90% agree with that. Yes, every component is premium quality, but the construction gets maybe 95 out of 100, due to the trackpad installation and the opening problem I note below. Most importantly, they can't make its price competitive enough, but street price should come down later.

HP copied ideas from Macbook, but have enough of their own. The glowing logo on the back made me laugh. Well, whatever they need to do to gain market share. However, once you go pass the black island keyboard on silver, that's where the similarity on look stops. They did put in a lot of thoughts and effort at being different and unique. Nice looking laptop - Overpriced, March 21, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre 14-Inch Ultrabook (Silver/Black) (Personal Computers) After doing research on most of the ultrabooks in the market I finally settled with HP Envy Spectre 14. I already own Macbook Air and I am happy with it. Just wanted another Windows native machine for work and travel purpose. Let me tell you this is the most attractive laptop I have ever seen. But the Glass on top is hard to keep clean, its a finger print magnet. I found the boot time slow as other ultrabooks. But wake up time from sleep is instant. So if you can shell out couple of extra hundred bucks for good looking laptop this is for you.

I don't have much faith in PCs these days, but when I had the chance to get my hands on one of these, I couldn't resist. I was pleasantly surprised! This is a really good PC.
PROS:
* Very quiet. Previous PCs have been extremely loud; this one is almost always silent.
* Very fast and smooth. No lag; high-quality videos play great.
* Stays cool. This has been a big problem for me in the past; my computers always heat up to ridiculous temperatures, causing them to run badly. This hasn't been a problem at all.
* Small, light, and easy to move.
* Small charger. This is a minor thing, but it's kind of nice that it's so small in unobtrusive.
* Built-in camera and mic. This might be standard for all I know, but my previous laptops haven't had a mic. This pretty convenient.
* Long battery life. While 5+ hours definitely doesn't beat my MacBook Pro, it's still really good for a PC.
