Love it love it!, February 22, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Acer Aspire AS5755-6647 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black) (Personal Computers) I'm in college right now and I was looking for a cheaper laptop that wasn't a piece of crap. I researched tons of laptops and this was by far the best deal with the best specs. I also bought the SquareTrade warranty just in case, but I ordered it on a Wednesday at like 10:00pm and it was here by Friday early afternooon, so that's like a day and a half (with Prime of course) so that was cool. Out of the package everything worked perfect, there were no flaws or defects. It boots up fast (20ish seconds, they have stupid quick ones nowadays but most of those have solid state drives and are much more expensive) and it set up really quick.
Battery life has been great, it has power save options too that bump it up higher than what it is advertised at (which i think was 4.5 hrs). I used it at class all day and typed a paper and did a bunch of other stuff and I still had like 2 hours (according to the laptop) of battery power left. The battery charges quickly too... Read more

There is one USB 2 port on the left side and on the right side there is 1 USB 2 and 1 USB 3 port.
Amazon's Specs are inaccurate showing only 2 ea USB 2 ports.
I will be ordering this one in about 3 days.
The specs on this one are excellent so consider it for yourself. I have had 4 Acer laptops over a period of years and have gotten excellent service from all of them.
March 1, 2012 I have received this computer from Amazon. I love it.
What I did find necessary was to get an updated driver for the 3000 internal video in order to improve the display. It has made a difference.
Formerly I would get a message when playing Solitaire that I needed hardware acceleration that was not possible on this card. With the new drivers the play goes much smoother and I am sure movies would also play better.

I couldn't spend a fortune, so that too was a consideration. I had heard about the Acer brand, and hadn't heard anything bad about it, so I ordered this particular model. No problems for 2 months, then one morning I turned it on, but, although the light went on, the screen stayed black, and the light switched off. I tried what few things were available to me with a black screen, and then called the company. They're sending me a mailing label so I can return the laptop at my own expense, with no idea as to the time frame for repair or replacement.
Do yourself a favor folks, buy a different brand oflaptop and save yourself from having to deal with a customer service rep who spoke so fastI had to give the phone to my wife so she could try and understand at least some of what she was saying. Perhaps if you choose another brand you won't even have to be dealing with customer service after only 2... Read more
